Study on miniaturization of a disk repeater system for contactless power transfer to rotating structures

(in English) We have developed a simple non-resonant repeater connecting two copper disks with a wire, which couples the disks with open spiral coils electrically, enabling highly efficient contactless power transfer with long distance by use of a long wire. It is expected that the system is suitable for feeding any rotating structures that do not require a big airgap but non-contact feeding with small gap if we make use of the mentioned characteristic. Since the spiral coil which we have used makes a half-wavelength resonator, however, its size is rather big with the difficulty of downsizing. Thus, we have introduced a multi-layered quarter-wavelength resonator and attained remarkable reduction of operation frequency. By using lumped circuit elements for the receiving circuit and some other trials, in addition, we have succeeded to miniaturize the system and, at the same time, lower the operating frequencies from about 30MHz to 2MHz.
