SAR measures scattered, either by bistatic or monostatic configurations, in time-frequency (delay time - Doppler frequency) domain. The image focusing is to map the time-frequency data into spatial domain at which the targets are located. This study attempts to derive a mathematical model for SAR echo signal, based on the scattering theory. Results demonstrate the weakness of the focusing based on a point target model, for which it fails when the mutual interactions among the targets are strong., The effectiveness of the proposed method, using an extend targets model in focusing algorithm, are validated by laboratory experiments. |
