A Basic Study on Measurement of Knee Joint Angle Using Inertial Sensors During Free Gait in Daily Living
Takumi Ebihara, Maho Shiotani, Takashi Watanabe (Tohoku Univ.) MBE2016-54
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The motion measurement system that measures 3 dimensional human movements using inertial sensors has been developed in our research group. However, in case of evaluating motor function using several inertial sensors, it is necessary to perform calibration to modify coordinate systems of sensors. This study aimed at developing a practical calibration method for modifying coordinate system. From a basic experiment of knee joint angle measurement during walking with a healthy subject, it was shown that measurement accuracy of the knee joint angle improved with the calibration method.
