Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) With the advance of the optical communication technology, many kinds of network services have been provided in communication networks. It is considered that multiple virtual optical networks are constructed with network virtualization technology in order to provide those network services flexibly. In this paper, we propose a virtual network construction method based on network robustness of the physical network and transmission distance. In our proposed method, a user sends a request for constructing a virtual network to a service provider who owns a physical network, and the service provider designs a topology of the virtual network according to the request. In this topology design, at first, the service provider calculates a cost for each link of the physical network. Here, the cost includes the rate for changing the network robustness of the physical network and transmission distance. Then, by utilizing the Dijkstra algorithm and Prim's MST algorithm, the service provider designs a topology of the virtual network where user's request is satisfied and the amount of costs for constructing the virtual network is minimized. By utilizing our proposed method, the service provider can provide a lot of virtual networks while maintaining the robustness of the physical network. Moreover, users can provide a communication service with a few transmission delay because the transmission distance of the virtual network becomes small. We evaluate the performance of the our proposed method with simulation for JPN~(Japan Photonic Network) Model. We show the effectiveness of our proposed method by comparing with a conventional method.
