Low Latency and Power Efficient Cross-Layer Control for MQTT-SN and Wi-SUN Based Sensor Network

(in English) This paper describes two issues than arise when MQTT-SN and IEEE802.15.4e are both used in a sensor network system. One of the issues is that the power consumption increases when communication become more frequent. The other is the waste of power because of sleep timing differences of both protocols.
This paper proposes two cross-layer control methods to solve these issues. One is adding new variable-timing beacons and the other is suppression of receiving of beacons when the node is sleeping.
The proposed methods are implemented on the network simulator and evaluated.
