With the population of mobile devices and online social services, people often try to record their daily lives using their phones or tablets. According to the information provided by Facebook and YouTube, people upload at least 300 million images per day and averaged 72-houred videos per minute onto the internet. With such amount of images and videos, people have no means to arrange their own recorded files. Hence, this work proposed a distributed computation based summarization service which accepts a video or a group of images uploaded by users and automatically produces the corresponding background music by analyzing emotion transitions in the uploaded media. Typically, the process of generating a background music consists of three parts: video summarization, emotion transition analyzation, and music clip matching. However, each part requires massive amount of costly computational resources. To deal with the problem, this service proposed a flexible and distributed topology that allows the server to not only expand the computation node rapidly but be able to coordinate and utilize clients? resources to speed up the video emotion analyzation process. Moreover, in the part of music clip matching, this work also proposed a novel searching algorithm to find the appropriate music clips, and then arrange and merge them together according to the emotion distribution of the uploaded media. Experimental results show that the proposed approach can effectively improve the performance of music clip matching without losing the accuracy and reduce the computational costs required in generating a background music for the uploaded media. |
