Displacement current measurement (DCM) is a useful tool for investigating charge injection, accumulation and trapping processes in organic semiconductor devices. In this report, we present the fundamentals of DCM and some results obtained by applying this method to the analysis of operation and degradation mechanisms of organic light-emitting devices. Particularly, we demonstrate that the polarization charge originating from the spontaneous orientation polarization of evaporated organic films dominates the interface properties of stacked organic light-emitting diodes. We also studied the operation mechanisms of light-emitting electrochemical cells by using DCM. |
