Dynamic resource management is identified as a main issue in heterogeneous networks (HetNets). In this paper, we investigate a joint of user equipment (UE) association (UEA) and resource allocation in the HetNets. To associate UEs to BSs, we propose a UEA scheme based on the base stations' (BSs') estimated load and signal to interference and noise ratio. Furthermore, to allocate resource, i.e. power and channel, a self-organizing mechanism is applied. Simulation results show that our proposed joint UEA and resource allocation yields significant performance in terms of average energy consumption and average BS load compared to the benchmark schemes. |
