| 抄録 | （和） | Surveillance systems play very crucial role in ensuring safety and security in environments of interests such as airports, stations, hospitals, streets etc. With the advancement in the surveillance technology, systems can automatically analyze the surveillance videos, detect threats and generate various alarms to inform the concerned authority for further actions. However, with the increase in the intelligence of the surveillance applications and resolution of surveillance cameras, more computing resources are required. Furthermore, current surveillance systems are not efficient at dealing with dynamic situations such as major events, festivals, games where security concern are growing exponentially. In this paper, we summarize some of the challenges faced in current surveillance systems as well as discuss the opportunities to deal with those challenges. We address these challenges by proposing a context aware platform for distributed surveillance systems, where we leverage advancements in other technology areas to improve the efficiency of the surveillance systems and reduce associated costs. Context aware platform facilitate efficient sharing of resources among distributed locations to benefit from spatio-temporal variability of surveillance workload, therefore ensure the detection of important events in real time. |
