Study of Simulation of Optical Propagation for Phase Retrieval in Shadowgraph of Ultrasonic Field

(in English) Establishment of fast and accurate measurement of ultrasound pressure field leads to the development of medical ultrasound applications. A hydrophone scanning method is generally used to measure an ultrasound pressure field, but the method needs a long time and may disturb the acoustic field. A shadowgraph-based measurement method is one of the optical methods enabling fast and noninterfering measurement of ultrasound pressure field. However, this method is difficult to measure in higher acoustic pressure, because the geometrical optics approximation collapses. In this study, the method considering optical propagation without depending on the geometrical optics approximation is suggested. The usefulness of the method on simulation is investigated. The result of optical propagation was compared with measured and simulated optical intensity, and better agreement was achieved than with the geometrical optics approximation.
