DS-UWB-IR systems, which combines the direct sequence/spread-spectrun techniques with the ultra wideband-impulse radio technniques, are investigated. For the simplification of the receiver, the on-off keying systems with a square-law detector are evaluated. However, in these systems, error rate performance greatly deteriorates by other users signals. To solve this problem, the authors proposed proposed the energy weighted DS-UWB-IR using the modified pseudo orthogonal M-sequence and the square-low deection. In this paper, the proposed system is described and evaluated by theoretical analysis and computer simulation. In particular, the error rate taking into account co-channel interference is evaluated. Consequently, it is found that the proposed system outperforms the conventional system in the presence of co-channel interference. |
