[Poster Presentation] A Study of Color Deviation Mitigation Method for Digital Color Shift Keying using RGB-LED Array

(in English) Digital color shift keying (DCSK) is a visible light communication (VLC) intensity modulation method, which can fulfill the both roles of lighting and communication by using RGB-light emitting diodes (LEDs).
DCSK transmits data through the intensities ratio of RGB-LEDs by digital multiple ``on-off'' LED control in a multiple RGB-LEDs (i.e., RGB-LED array).
Moreover, the perceived color on human eye (i.e., target color) of modulated DCSK signal can be shifted by choosing the $M$ constellation points for data transmission.
However, when the RGB intensities are assigned to multiple RGB-LEDs for representing DCSK symbol, the undesired color deviation occurs in an RGB-LED array.
In this paper, we consider the life span of RGB-LED array by applying cyclic mapping to mitigate undesired color deviation in the target color controlled DCSK system, and
experimentally evaluated by correlated color temperature (CCT), x-y chromaticity coordinate, and error vector performance (EVM) performance.
As the result, the cyclic mapping methods leads EVM performance degradation up to 2dB, because the LEDs have more chances to turn on and off.
But for lighting performance, CCT and x-y chromaticity coordinate get close to the designed value.
