[Invited Lecture] Numerical Calculation of Opening End Imoedance of Microstrip Line Jig to Use for the S-Parameter Method

(in English) Recently, the S-parameter method, which is the wideband measurement method of the input impedance for the balanced antenna, has been proposed. However, when the measured frequency rises, measurement accuracy decreases because the influence of jig cannot be disregarded. We have proposed the modified open correction using an open end impedance of a transmission line that can be remove the influence of the jig, and reported wideband measurement of a dipole antenna and a bow-tie antenna using a jig made of microstrip line.
In this report, to improve the S-parameter method, we propose a calculation method of an open end impedance of the microstrip line using the reflection coefficient at an observation point apart from the open end. As a result, the input impedance of a dipole antenna calculated by the proposed method was shown to be slightly better than conventional methods.
