| (in English) | In Chiba University so far developed a 95GHz bistatic FM-CW radar FALCON-I · FALCON-A for cloud observation, continues its mission in Chiba Prefecture and the National Institute of Polar Research Ny-Alesund base, respectively, already put into practical use there. However, there are problems such as parallax, sensitivity to near field or far are not sufficient. For this reason, we are developing a 95GHz monostatic FM-CW radar FALCON-X. The development of the radar has been difficult due to the leakage from the transmitting side to the receiving side, it is reduced by adoption of the offset Cassegrain antenna and cancellation system. FALCON-X has been greatly reduced in size compared to FALCON-I in purpose to all-sky scanning observation by mechanical scanning. | |
