Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In a mode-division multiplexing (MDM) transmission system, transmission performance considerably depends on differential mode delay (DMD). In general, since DMD is changed by signal wavelengths, evaluation for wavelength dependence of DMD is necessary especially for employing wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) to transmission systems with MDM. Here, we report the measurement results for wavelength dependence of DMD in a step-index 10 mode fiber with low-coherence interferometry.
