A Method of Reducing Collision Probability for Power-Saving Wireless Sensor Networks

(in English) In power-saving wireless multi-hop sensor networks, concentration of child nodes at a specific parent node would cause a bias of power consumption and increase of collision probability. In order to solve these problems, it is required to apply a smoothing method to such sensor networks. There are two kinds of conventional smoothing methods. One is a smoothing method with centralized control the other is an autonomous distributed smoothing method. In this paper, we propose the hybrid smoothing method which is able to smooth nodes effectively with little traffic because the only proper nodes specified by a gateway which has two kinds of smoothing commands to start smoothing and it sends more effective command properly based on statistical threshold value execute smoothing. We verified the effect of our method applied to the data of practical network topology and show the collision probability and the bias of power consumption are dissolved.
