Effect of PVS Transmit Diversity on Initial Cell Search Method Using Two-step Frequency Offset Estimation in Heterogeneous Networks

(in English) We proposed a cell search method using two-step frequency offset estimation in heterogeneous networks using separate frequency spectra in a previous paper. This paper investigates the effects of receive diversity, precoding vector switching (PVS) transit diversity, and the method to use the frequency offset estimation in the previous iteration loops on the detection probabilities of primary synchronization signal (PSS) and cell ID in Long Term Evolution (LTE) heterogeneous networks. We also show the decreasing effect of the initial cell search time of the cell search method when using PVS transmit diversity for the frequency error of a temperature compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) of a user equipment in heterogeneous networks.
