An LTE Base Station Load Estimation Method Based on RSRQ and SINR

(in English) Authors have been investigating an off-peak data transfer method which transfers the non-real-time data during low load interval of the base station. To realize the off-peak data transfer, how to monitor the traffic load of the base station is a significant problem. We estimate the LTE base station load by passively estimating the resource block (RB) usage rate of the serving cell based on RSRQ and SINR measured by user equipment. In this paper, we propose a method estimating RB usage rate of base station in the case of multiple transmission antennas while our previous work mainly focused on single transmission antenna case. The accuracy of the proposed method is evaluated in the experimental LTE network.
