In land mobile radio communications, the transfer function of the multipath channel is essential for various kinds of signal processing, such as MIMO and interference cancellation in NOMA (non-orthogonal multiple access). The channel estimation error makes the transmission capacity decrease due to the increase of interference. In land mobile communication systems generally, the channel information can be sampled periodically in discrete time since the channel is measured at each pilot symbol which is periodically inserted in a frame. Therefore, the channel at arbitrary time can be estimated by interpolation or extrapolation. The authors of this report focus on the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) of the channel information samples which shows the Doppler shift frequency and the complex amplitude of each incident wave of the multipath channel.
In this report, a DFT-based channel interpolation method and extrapolation/prediction method are discussed. |
