In the realization of equipment such as video conferencing system , security camera and robot which can communicate with person , the front of them is demanded to follow automatically the sound source direction by the rotating mechanism. Moreover the reduction of malfunction due to noise and reflected sound has now become the problem that should be developed. This paper proposes a new tracking method focused on the simple system realization for small size as well as the reduction of influence due to noise and reflected wave , where the rotation control can be well performed by the simple processing even in the case that two indirectional microphone interval is as small as about 4 cm. With regard to the detection of sound source direction, the processing procedures shown in this paper is as follows. In order to lower the influence of noise, the binarization processing is applied to the output signals of microphones. After that, add/subtractions, integration, multiplication and averaging processing are applied in sequent . As a result, lead-lag detection between the input signals of microphones can be obtained actually in the ranges of audio frequency. Finally it was confirmed by the research concerning with the actual realized system that the proposed concept is valid for the simple realization of sound source direction tracking system. The detail discussion about the operation principal , actual configuration and operating characteristic also shown in this paper. |
