Si-photonics optical transmitter was fabricated using quantum dot laser (QDL) light sources for multimode-fiber (MMF) transmission and we confirmed that error free operation at 25 Gbps over 20-75 degree Celsius. This results are attributed to superior high-temperature characteristics of the QDL and a large numerical aperture of MMF coupling to a grating coupler. |
