It becomes difficult to discriminate the objects in a color image in case the where the color image is converted into the monochrome one by using only its lightness components. In addition, it may cause the unnaturalness for the monochrome image because there are some differences between the lightness of the lightness components and the lightness perceived by the human. In this report, a color removal method considering the Helmholtz-Kohlrausch effect is proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by some experiments. |
