A study of high power base-station transmitters with higher reliability/maintainability for satellite communication systems

(in English) Base stations for between remote island satellite communication systems and disaster recovery satellite communication systems are generally required large aperture antenna and high transmission power to have a large number of line. In particular, the uses of TWTA were common to satisfy a high power transmission. SSPA’s output power improvement in the recent years and the easily its operation, requests of replacement from TWTA to SSPA are growing. This paper clarifies high-power transmitter configuration to improve reliability. As a replacement study to SSPA from TWTA, the issue of insufficient SSPA output power is solved to combine some SSPAs output with the dynamic calibration technique to minimize the synthesis loss. Fundamental experimental verification results of the dynamic calibration technique are also described.
