(in English) With the spread of high-speed mobile networks, e.g. LTE and LTE-advanced, a high-speed mobile communication, e.g. tens to hundreds Mbit/s, becomes possible with user terminals such as smart phones. However, the available throughput at the user terminal dynamically changes every moment in accordance with the sharp change in radio wave environment caused by mobility of the user terminal. In the meanwhile, as the conventional TCP protocols which deal with more than 90% of the Internet traffic do not expect the intense fluctuation of the available throughput, network resource is not utilized completely especially in the case of high-speed mobile communication. In this paper, we propose to improve the mobile network resource utilization rate by using a cross-layer communication control method based on cooperation between TCP layer and radio control layer. After introducing our concept of integrated control across internet/transport and radio control layers first, we show both throughput improvement and delay reduction effects of the proposed method.
