Photonic technology based millimeter-wave wireless links using array-antenna-electrode electro-optic modulator

(in English) Providing excellent communication environment in densely user located environment such as a stadium and a shopping mall is an important issue for next-generation (5G) wireless communication systems. Array-antenna-electrode electro-optic modulators which we have proposed and developed can be applied to millimeter-wave wireless uplinks in the environment. In this paper, we present the fabrication and evaluation of the antenna-electrode modulators using polarization reversed structures. In addition, we report the data transmission experiment using the modulator in the millimeter-wave band.
