A gene network model based on asynchronous bifurcation processor
Ryota Araki, Hiroyuki Torikai (Kyoto Sangyo Univ.) NLP2015-144
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The gene affects various behaviors of animals such as circadian rhythm, courtship behavior, motor behavior, visual behavior, and learning.
The circadian rhythm is a biological rhythm having a period of almost 24 hours, which is sometimes called internal clock or biological clock.
In this article, a gene network based on the concept of the asynchronous bifurcation processor is investigated.
It is shown that the model can generate circadian rhythms similar to the ones generated by an ordinary differential equation gene network model.
It is also shown that the presented model can be implemented in an FPGA with less hardware resource compared to the differential equation model.
