Load Balancing Torus OPS Data Center Networks With Hybrid Optoelectronic Routers

(in English) An optical packet switching (OPS)-based data center network architecture
enabled by hybrid optoelectronic routers (HOPR) is studied. HOPRs are
interconnected in a flat torus topology. For load balancing, HOPRs and
top-of-rack switches are connected in a multi-by-multi manner. Simulations
for a 6-dimensional network composed of 4096 HOPRs, show the improvement
of network performance in terms of throughput, packet dropping probability
and latency, by decreasing the average number of hops.
