Evaluation of physiological and subjective responses generated by vortex air rings of a cheek haptic display

(in English) Our previous study suggested that a cheek haptic stimuli by vortex air rings caused reduction of physiological stress. In this paper, we conducted a preliminary evaluation on how people perceive haptic stimuli generated by air vortex rings of different intensity and how these stimuli affect physiological reaction such as heart rate variability and brain wave activities as well as task performance. For determining the intensity of vortex rings, we conducted the impression evaluation experiment of different intensities of air pressure and two types of intervals. With the result, we created a system for evaluation and conducted the experiment to present air vortex rings on the cheek when a subject feels stress. From the result we found that vortex rings with the different intensity and time intervals showed different reactions to the subject’s physiological state and task performance.
