Link Selection Scheme based on Path Trees from Exporter Routers for Network Greening -- Cost Setting with considering Bandwidth --

(in English) As the Internet grows explosively and network components such as routers and switches increase, they consume electric power more and more, thus network greening becomes the most important issue.
When the utilization of some links/routers are relatively low and traffic flows transmitted on them can be detoured via other paths, it
would be effective for energy saving of these links to cut off/change their states to low-power activation.
In EAR(Energy Aware Routing)/ XEAR(eXtended EAR), by using the links in shortest path trees from some exporter routers, only their adjacent routers/all of other routers transmit their traffic and unused links are deactivated.
The effectiveness of XEAR has been investigated in the case that the link bandwidth is homogeneous in the network.
Thus in this paper, we focus on the cost setting with considering link bandwidth heterogeneity for constructing path trees from exporter routers,investigate the relationship between the setting cost and power saving/transmission performance, and show the optimal link cost setting.
