Edge Decision Message Reduction Method for Data Collecting Scheme with Edge Searching in Wireless Sensor Networks

(in English) We propose a novel method to reduce the number of message for edge decision in wireless sensor networks using data collecting edge searching. Event detection node starts a timer using the observed value, and it sends a message for edge node decision from a node when the timer is timed out. Nodes receiving the message from a neighbor node stop the timer. Therefore, the proposed method is possible to reduce the number of messages exchanged between the neighbor nodes, and it is possible to reduce the power consumption of the node. We show the availability of the proposed method by comparing edge node determination accuracy, the power consumption, and the number of messages, by simulation.
