Because of high-density implementation, the large-capacity routers are very heavy and have a huge power consumption. These require equipment capability for power supply and air cooling to be enlarged. Considering a physical limitation of the infrastructure and the reliability criteria, the relation between the merits to introduce these routers and the total cost is clarified. Using development scheme about earthquake-resistance design, power supply salability, and air cooling reliability, we show the Technical Requirement described the minimum condition for the routers and development of improved cabinets and power supply devices to install them to satisfy network reliability at the low cost. |
