Relay Probability Characteristics in Social Ad-hoc Network with Different Intimacy Calculations and Social Network Structures

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, we discuss a method of whether to create a connection between members in an ad-hoc network based on human relationships (i.e. intimacy) in social networks to solve the incentive problem. We suggest a calculation of incentive from normal everyday experience, by using direct intimacy and indirect intimacy, which is calculated from direct intimacy, and evaluate the probability of accessing to the route node from a node in the ad-hoc network by changing the condition of social network. When the distribution of direct intimacy in a social network is relative high, the results of relay probability by using conventional method and proposed method show a significant difference with 46% on average. On the other hand, when the distribution of direct intimacy is relative low, the difference is merely under 6%. From these results, calculation method should be adopted following the characteristics of social network (e.g. the distribution of intimacy). Moreover, the increase of relay probability with proposed method is significantly affect by the density of social network, with the highest result being 3 times as large as the lowest one. Meanwhile, when the density is fixed, the increase of relay probability shows little difference even the topologies of the network differs from each other.
