Reducing environmental impact by base stations is an urgent requirement. We envision “Green BTS” which is a base station using PV and storage battery for decreasing peak electricity demand, and show that it is possible to reduce environmental impact using Green Power Controller. This approach is implemented in the Green Power Controller, a technique developed for Green BTS. Trials of an implemented controller confirm that the control proposal is effective in reducing environmental impact by using solar power and control of lithium-ion battery. |
