Propagation Characteristics Analysis of Orthogonal Polarized MIMO in Street Cell Model

(in English) In this research, analysis and comparison of computer simulation results and field experimental results for orthogonal polarized MIMO antenna are conducted in street cell environment. In particular, instantaneous reception power characteristics of the cross polarization component and the main polarization component are evaluated and analyzed both for circularly polarized and linearly polarized antennas. As a simulation method, ray-tracing scheme is applied to the street cell model composed of direct wave, reflected waves from the buildings by the side of a road, reflected waves from the surface of the road, and combined waves of them. In the simulation, variations of the received signal power are investigated by changing the number of reflection times and location of the Tx and Rx antennas in order to clarify the appropriate parameters for the ray-tracing simulation in street cell environment. Finally, we confirmed the validity of the simulation method by comparing the results of field experiment in conjunction with instantaneous reception power characteristics both for circularly polarized and linearly polarized MIMO antennas.
