Synthesis of UWB Filter Consisting of SIR and Three-Coupled-lines by Successive Iterations

(in English) Since the coupling between the three-parallel-coupled-lines is stronger than that between traditional two-parallel-coupled-lines, three-parallel-coupled-line structures are applicable and widely applied to the design of wideband/ultra-wideband filters. However, it is found that since the conventional synthesis scheme usually neglects the cross-coupling between the non-adjacent lines of the three-coupled-line structure, the difference between the response of the synthesized filter and target goal is always more than 10%. To overcome this problem, in this report, a new modeling of three-parallel-coupled-lines considering the cross-coupling is used to synthesize the bandpass filters. Since the cross-coupling between non-adjacent lines is also dependent on the coupling between adjacent lines, a novel successive iteration synthesis scheme is correspondingly proposed to synthesize the filter. The results obtained by our synthesis theory compare well with those by simulation, while the model neglecting the cross-coupling between non-adjacent lines exhibits a 12% error in bandwidth estimation.
