Sound Source Localization based on Identification of Transfer Function between Microphones

(in English) In this study, we study a method of solving a spatial aliasing problem for sound source localization. Sound source localization is based on an estimation of time differential of arrival. Then, an expansion of microphone width is effective to improve the estimation accuracy. However, a spatial aliasing is brought. The spatial aliasing occurs due to the uncertainty of phase and cause a false estimation. In this study, we consider to resolve the problem based on an identification of transfer function between two microphones. Then, the time differential of arrival is estimated directly from the transfer function. ARMA model is used for modeling the transfer function of two microphones. RLS algorithm is applied to the identification of the transfer function. Several experiments in an actual environment show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
