(in English) We have proposed a light source with a broadband spectrum in the 1800 nm wavelength region by employing a cascade configuration with a super luminescent diode (SLD) module and a Tm3+-doped fiber amplification unit. The light source can increase the output power and broaden the output spectrum by amplifying a SLD output by TDFA. This report describes in detail that the wider bandwidth of an output spectrum and the improvement in an output characteristic is realizable by changing the characteristic of SLD and TDFA. The temperature dependency of TDFA which is necessary for the future stable operation is also described. Furthermore, one of example of our light source application is introduced.
