Control of gas molecular selectivity of organic ferroelectrics

(in English) Gas molecular selectivity of gas sensor is fixed on adsorbents. In this study, we aimed at the realization of the novel adsorbent material had been developed to adsorb target gas molecules selectively. A piezoelectrical blended with poly vinylidene fluoride polymer (PVDF) and poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA) was fabricated, and its absorbing features can be controlled by different electrical conditions. Based on electromechanical effects and changing molecular adsorption sites in polymer matrices, the selectivity of polymers could be controlled. The result showed that the adsorption properties of blended polymer was changed by numbers and directions of poling effect. It confirmed that the adsorption properties of a polymer could be controlled by different piezoelectric conditions. In addition, PVDF/PMMA blended with molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) can successfully adsorb target gas molecules selectively.
