The purpose of this study is to develop a surgical training simulator using a haptic device for sagittal split ramus osteotomy. The phased haptic force feedback and visualization of the state of the manipulated drill is performed based on a three-dimensional-tissue-map in order to avoid the breakage of the mandibular canal which includes the inferior alveolar nerve and inferior alveolar artery. |
