The purpose of this study is to develop a phantom for image distortion evaluation and to evaluate the image distortion in the single-shot echo planar imaging (EPI) and readout segmentation of long variable echo-trains (RESOLVE) objectively. The results show that the single-shot EPI had a maximum distortion rate of 15%, whereas RESOLVE had a distortion rate of 5%. The significant reduction in filling time on segmenting k-space alleviated the impact of eddy current and reduced the diamagnetic artifact, which reduced image distortion. |
