| (in English) | We propose an inter-cell interference coordination (ICIC) method in uplink of heterogeneous networks, by extending our previously reported transmission power control (TPC) method based on inter-cell interference power. Firstly, to avoid imparting severe interference from users connected to macro base station (BS) with high transmission power to users connected to a pico BS, we define the protected band, which is exclusively used by only pico BSs, within the overall system bandwidth. Furthermore, the remaining frequency band, which is called non-protected band in the paper, is separated as edge and inner bands similar to the soft fractional frequency reuse (SFR). By applying our previously reported TPC method based on inter-cell interference power to the protected band at pico BSs and edge band at macro BSs, the ICIC effect is obtained and the overall system throughput can be enhanced. By using the computer simulation, we show the effectiveness of the proposed method quantitatively. | |
