Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) DFTs-OFDM (DFT spread OFDM) and SSB-DFTs-OFDM (Single Side Band DFTs-OFDM) have lower PAPR than OFDM while maintaining the same spectrum efficiency and robustness to frequency selective fading as OFDM has. Thus, DFTs-OFDM and SSB-DFTs-OFDM are expected as promising solutions for broadband wireless transmission, but their bit error rate (BER) performances are degraded by DC offset error. This report evaluates BER performance of DFTs-OFDM and SSB-DFTs-OFDM in frequency selective fading when DC offset error exists, and reveals that BER performance degradation with DC offset error at the receiver side is significantly larger than that with DC offset error at the transmitter side when frequency domain equalization is performed. To solve this problem of SSB-DFTs-OFDM, this report proposes NDCS (Null DC Subcarrier) / DCSS (DC Subcarrier Shift)-SSB to be immune to DC offset error. Furthermore, it is shown that DCSS-SSB has lower PAPR than NDCS-SSB as DCSS-SSB is highly correlated to the original DFTs-OFDM. Simulation results confirm the proposed schemes are robust to DC offset error and DCSS-SSB is superior to NDCS-SSB in terms of PAPR and BER performance when non-linear amplifier is employed.
