Basic study on Comic Summarization for supporting access to specific comic contents

(in English) The purpose of this study is to provide the user with an intuitive
method for accessing a specific scene within a comic. In many cases,
when searching for a particular scene within a comic, the user may
not remember the scene's exact page number or title but may know the
scene's approximate position within the comic or story
sequence. Such cues for accessing the desired scene are
insufficient; therefore the user may need to re-read the entire
comic; this is very time consuming for the user. To improve the
efficiency of locating a particular comic scene, we employ an
indicative summary that organizes and restructures the information
contained in the comic frame. In this paper, as the first step for
realizing an indicative summarization method for comics, we
investigate factors necessary for summary generation from actual
comics.
