Effect Evaluation of Discriminative Models and Data Input Conditions on Emotion Recognition from EEG
Miku Yanagimoto, Chika Sugimoto (YNU)
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Machine learning methods for human emotion recognition using biosignals are proposed, but high accuracy has not been achieved. In this study, we evaluated the effects of discriminative models and data input conditions on emotion recognition from EEG signals and created the high-accuracy classifiers to recognize "Kawaii", one of the human emotions. The classifiers are made learning EEG signals which were labeled as an emotion "Kawaii" or "not Kawaii" induced watching animals' photos. EEG signals were recorded during watching animals' photos, and these photos induced subjects' emotions. We selected SVM as the discriminative model, and investigated the effects of input conditions (window size, window slide size, time-series length, sampling rate, method of classificalion, kernel function). As a result of optimizing the classifiers, the average accuracy of the best classifier marked 80.3%.
