We concern about the risk that fiber fuse initiation is increased with increasing the input power per fiber by utilizing the space-division multiplexing with a few-mode fiber. We investigated fiber fuse propagation in the LP11 mode in two-mode fiber by changing the ratio of propagation mode launching with PLC-based mode multiplexer. In this study, we focused on two parameters, namely, the propagation power threshold, and the diameter of melted area. |
