An Evaluation for Appropriate Camera Selection in 3D Reconstruction System Using Multiple Cameras

(in English) In 3D reconstruction using structure from motion (SfM), it is necessary to
capture images of a subject from various viewpoints. By introducing wireless
communication into SfM systems, installation of multiple cameras and its
position adjustment might be alleviated. In addition, by controlling cameras
to utilize only the cameras which highly contribute to 3D reconstruction
quality, the data amount transferred over wireless networks cab be
efficiently reduced keeping 3D reconstruction quality. By using several
combinations of camera positions, in this paper, we evaluate the influence
of camera positions to the accuracy of 3D reconstruction in order to clarify
the appropriate camera selection approaches.
