Analysis of gazing point when changing the viewing distances and positions

(in English) Due to progress in image technology, high-resolution screens are becoming prevalent. Super high-resolution images can be viewed from short viewing distances because of the minute picture element structure. It is thus useful to analyze eye movements when watching a high-resolution picture from a short distance. Since the viewing angle becomes wider, head movement and eye movement occur. This study analyzed subjects’ eye movement and head movement as they viewed three types of images at a viewing distance of 0.75H, 1.5H and 3H. Results showed that average gazing-point location was distributed around the screen center regardless of viewing location or distance, and that head rotation was in the same direction as viewing location, while the tendency of eye movement was against the viewing location.
