Economical infrastructure is required for prospective optical transport networks. To achieve such networks, it is important to maximally utilize an optical-layer processing. Recently, dynamic control techniques for optical networks are needed to adapt high-speed and elastic optical paths such as inter-datacenter networks. In such situations, optical path switching and spectrum defragmentation in the optical layer to improve flexibility of networks are in high demands. In this paper, we successfully achieved hitless operation of the optical path switching and the spectrum defragmentation using maximum ratio combining in digital signal processing. |
