Evaluation of MR Elastography system with two concave drivers for high viscosity tissue

(in English) Magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) is a method to visualize viscoelastic modulus from shear wave images in tissue. In high-viscosity tissue, it is difficult to visualize viscoelastic modulus because of high attenuation of shear waves. The objective of this study was to evaluate MRE system with two concave drivers to enhance shear wave amplitude in deep tissue regions. Plane-shaped oscillators are used widely. To converge shear waves in a deep part of a target, a parabolic concave oscillator was developed. Using more than one oscillator together at once is expected to cause higher amplitude. In this study, we measured wave motion images of high viscosity-gel phantom by two oscillators placed oppositely both sides of the gel phantom. The results indicate that two concave oscillators will enable accurate measurement of the shear modulus in deep regions.
