Receiver System for monitoring Broadcasting Satellite Service in Japan

(in English) In implementation of Broadcasting Satellite Service (BSS), it is important to monitor continuously that the radio waves from the satellite are received stably and clearly all over the service area. As a direct approach for that purpose, there is a method of measuring the electric field strength at the monitor points set on the fringes of the service area. Broadcasting Satellite System Corporation (B-SAT) has built a receiver system, which has several receivers on the fringes of Japan, to check the stability of BSS. This system is centrally-managed at Tokyo. This paper describes the outline of the system.
